What is Jailbreaking?

Almost in every system they are maintaining a closed
environments prioritizing the security reasons. It is same here in iOS.
Manufacturers keep user in a guest-access position, they limit the user by
accessing some of the areas because of the security reasons. But to experience
full potential of the system we have to break the rules applied by Manufactures
and get the admin rights. It is simply known as “Jailbreaking”. In Android we
call this process “Rooting”.
The process of bypassing the limited areas applied
by the Manufactures is the process call jailbreak. In technical terms
Jailbreaking can be call a system modification which gives the root-level
access. For more "A modified set of kernel
patches (the kernel being the supervisor of the operating system) that allow
you to run unsigned code," as saurik explains.
In consideration to today’s topic iOS 9.1 update,
let’s move further with Jailbreaking. At the time iOS 9.1 released Jailbreaking
was not available for the update using Pangu jailbreak which is the most
reliable way to move on with jailbreaking. Then Pangu team released a new
version of their tool to jailbreak iOS 9.1 after some time later.
Quick guide to jailbreak your iPhone, iPad or iPod running iOS 9.1 using Pangu jailbreak
- Step 1: Download the latest for Mac or Windows from here,
- Step 2: Connect your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch to your computer through a compatible USB.
- Step 3: Take a full backup of your device. (Use latest version of iTunes)
- Step 4: Disable Passcode. To that go to Settings > Touch ID & Passcode, turn off Find my iPhone from Settings > iCloud > Find my iPhone, and enable Airplane mode.
- Step 5: Then launch Pangu, it usually take some time to detect your device, and once it is successfully done hit the start button. If you are getting an error message on your Mac, simply right click on the Pangu9 icon and click on open in the menu. And Windows users have to right click on the Pangu exe to set “run as administrator” option.
- Step 6: Users will be asked for a backup, if you have already backup your device’s data, you can skip this step.
- Step 7: Then it will reboot your device.
- Step 8: After that you will have to enable Airplane mode once again.
- Step 9: At around 75% of the process, Pangu will lead you to unlock your device and run the Pangu app.
- Step 10: Then tap on the “Accept” to give access to mobile app to work on the device and tap on the “Allow” on the pop up that follows.
- Step 11: Once you are done with the mentioned steps, Pangu get the chance of accessing on your device. Then it will take few minutes to complete the progress bar and once it is successfully done, your device will reboot automatically.
- Step 12: After all these steps, Pangu tool will let you know that your device has successfully jailbroken. Then you will be able to notify the Cydia icon on the last page of your home screen. Do not forget to disable Airplane mode before you are going to launch Cydia.
That is all you have to follow for a successful
process of Jailbreaking. This will open up many additional features to your
device to reach beyond default settings. Cydia is the application that allows
